Some more Crocs...
PART 03
Ok, so.. let me introduce you to Kyle (name will change later I think).. the Red Crocodile. He's Grumpy and not happy..
I think I get to the point where I have to move on to other characters.. I'll come back to him later and decide where I wanna go with the design. I'm quite happy with the stumpy shape so far. Will have to explore a bit more though.
I'm still planning to do my usual pencil drawing for the final illustrations, but it's always good to let myself free in the beginning of the process :)
some silhouettes:
and some more pencil, pen & ink sketches:
I hope you enjoy. I'll post another character soon - promise it won't be a croc. :)

*and cheers for commenting on my blog!
These are lovely!
I think you've really got something here. I can't wait to see Kyle fully realized.
Great design as well, he's definitely not a happy camper.
I LOVE the shape exploration in the orange silhouettes. Fantastic character.
These are all so cool!
Really nice characters and you can tell his personality just by looking at him :)
Very much looking forward to the story!
Cheers,
Junko
I adore how it looks!
grumpy and cool, but totally lovable.
I think when it comes to children's books and illustrations that you like the character makes it all.
Keep em going!
And thanks Charles for sharing this story and process :D
Smart move not to burn out on the first character. Love the bottom ones, cause they look very lively. The ink ones look cool too, though.
Looking forward to what comes next :D
I really like that middle left, red silhouette. That's all I got for now, but I'm drooling to see more, sir!

They are so lovely!! I can easily see them as a character of a children book (especially the red silhouettes and the pen and ink skecth). Congratulation Charles, it's awesome!! =D
