Foxboy and Savanna

Hi all,
Here's a random thing that I did few days ago. I called it.. Foxboy.

And another thing is this.. A few months ago Mike Boldt invited me to give a contribution to a great children book project called "The ABC's of Northern Ghana". There are some super talented artists contributing to this project. I'm so thrilled and honoured be a part of this. Go and check some of the progress and finished images in the blog! Thanks, Mike! :)

My letter was "S" for Savanna:

Charles, the Foxboy feels magical. Like it would come every hundred years to check on earth's woods health and bring wonderfulness to the things he touches.
Ever heard or seen May Ann Licudine ( http://nnayam.blogspot.com/ )? It made me remind the feelings I get from watching her art.

"The ABC's of Northern Ghana" sounds like a nice book to have. You gave a great contribution there.

Have a great week with a C, h, a, r, l, e, and "S"!

Yeah, great lighting in the Savanna piece.

The Foxboy has a cool look to it. Almost like cut-out, but really dimensional. Like it's coming at you off the screen. Really neat :D

These are amazing Charles, I'm especially keen on Savanna. How do you get your colours like that? They look like coloured pencils. And I love how you've depicted the cool morning/afternoon shadows.

Mannnnnn.. I just LOVE that Ghana piece. What a pro you are. It's just dripping with atmosphere. Even the creatures... they're so comfortable in your world that the lizards have no fear of the snake, and the snakes can sleep in the open, no fear of the hawk. Wow!
