btw, what's with the word verify? :) Kinda need it to shoo away internet bots.. maybe? :)
Most of us have turned it off without any problems from spam. It's a nuisance because it can take up to 3 attempts to decipher those words. But you could just turn on comment moderation instead, if you're concerned.
Ah yes, I sometime a bit impatience with the word verification myself :) Done, it's off now. Thanks, Ted :)
