Niko & the Sword of Light Tribute

Hi all :)

Bobby Chiu and his family at Imaginism Studios has combined forces with StudioNX to create an epic animated comic book called 'Niko & the Sword of Light'.

I was honoured to be invited to contribute a piece for the concept artbook. When I get the email and saw a cool character, awesome creatures, great animations & overall design, I jumped in straight away.

I think some independent productions are fresh & exciting and I personally think this will be a great one.. so please share and/or support this if you could. :)

Kinokuniya Illustration Series - Part 1

Hi all,
Here are some photos that I took last weekend at the Kinokuniya book store (Sydney, Australia). Hope you like them. It's pretty unreal to finally seeing all the illustrations up there. This book store is one of my favourite hangout place.. so I'm really honoured to be able to work with them :)

I'll post the individual illustrations soon, also some unused options for the catalogue cover :)

Nomes - evil gnomes

Ben Wood is currently doing a month worth of OZ characters (Oztober). He said to me today "You should do an Oztober pic!!". So, I did a quick search of all the characters in that world and decided to create these 'Nomes' thingy. Apparently they're evil and grey.. so here you go.. :) They can see in the dark pretty well, hence the glowing eyes (like a cat).


On second note, I've uploaded the Tiger sculpt turntable to Vimeo. Some of you might have seen this already, but I thought I should post this up just incase. 3D Sculpt was done by the awesome Paul Braddock. :)

Female Warrior BW - WIP

Something different from what I usually post. Hope you like it though :) It's still pretty much a WIP, so some stuff may change later. I'm planning to do a full colour digital painting for this one in the future... but for now please excuse me, as I have to finish more drawings for my solo show. :)

A Good Mom (Red Panda version)

Did this for 'Share One Planet' contest. Took Red Pandas as my subject and tried to potray them in a simple, everyday situation :)


Title: A Good Mom
"It is important for red panda cubs to play outside regularly. When they're tired and falling asleep, Red Panda Mom will bring them closer to protect them from danger and colds. A good natured mom indeed."

NB: This might be a bit subtle but I put the 'tree/brances' without leaves (background), as a metaphor of their danger of extinction (I hope it won't happen though).

Clouds...

I enjoy looking at clouds and seeing different shapes in it. I know it's a cliche.. but I still love it :) Do you still do it these days?
